GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB

The Student Support Specialist serves as the on-site supervisor for a classroom of students. This individual ensures a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment by managing the physical classroom space and assisting students with academic and behavioral needs. The specialist collaborates closely with teachers and school staff to promote student success.

Special Requirement: The ability to obtain and maintain a valid North Carolina school bus driver's license may be required as a condition of employment for certain assignments within this classification. Assignment requirements are determined by school and district operational needs and may change at any time. Employees may be assigned, reassigned, or transferred to positions requiring bus-driving responsibilities and, when directed by the district, will be expected to obtain and maintain the required licensure within established timelines.
